Music at Messiah Classical Concert Series
We are thrilled to be back (or should we say “Bach”) now that the Covid pandemic appears to be lessening in our community. The Series was on hiatus from 2020 to 2022, yet the Music at Messiah committee continued to pray, long, and plan for safely resuming outstanding classical concerts for our local community. We are delighted to say that day has come!
On Saturday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. we will welcome Faythe Freese, an internationally recognized concert organist.
The concert will celebrate the re-opening of Music at Messiah with the
grand Organ Sonata Op 42 by Alexandre Guilmant, along with works by Price,
Sowerby and others.

Faythe Freese Reopens Music at Messiah Concert Series
After a two-and-a-half year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is thrilling to present the October 15, 2022, organ recital featuring Dr. Faythe Freese. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. We are pleased to offer this concert free of charge to the community. Donations and sponsorship opportunities are available at the door and greatly appreciated.
Dr. Faythe Freese, Professor Emeritus of Organ at the University of Alabama School of Music, is in demand as a recitalist throughout the United States, Europe, South Korea and Singapore. Her extensive travels to play pipe organs all over the world brings uncommon perspective and wisdom of the instrument in all its forms and expressions.
Dr. Freese will include works by Guilmant, African-American composer Florence Price, J.S. Bach, Sowerby and others.
